A LITTLE ABOUT SMOKEY UPPERCUTS

WE ARE WHYALLA BORN & BRED.

WE ARE COMITTED TO  DISHING UP A DELICIOUS FEED FOR THE PEOPLE HERE & AFAR.

WE STARTED IN OUR BACKYARD MANY MOONS AGO, COOKING FOR FRIENDS & FAMILY. THEY ENJOYED IT SO MUCH THEY URGED US TO BRING OUR UNIQUE FOOD CREATIONS TO THE WIDER COMMUNITY!

OUR HUMBLE BEGINNINGS KICK OFF IN EARLY 2019, DISHING UP PULLED PORK & BRISKET ROLLS COOKED ON A SMALL FAMILY WEBER IN A PORTABLE MARQUEE.  FROM THE VERY FIRST EVENT (HELD AT THE WHYALLA ROAD SAFETY CENTRE) OUR FOOD BECAME AN INSTANT HIT WITH THE COMMUNITY.

WE CONTINUED TO ATTEND DOZENS OF MARKETS & EVENTS OVER THE COURSE OF THE YEAR, EXTENDING OUR MENU, AQUIRING ONE OF THE BIGGEST MOBILE BBQ’S IN AUSTRALIA & QUICKLY EXPANDING OUR CUSTOMER BASE THROUGH THE EYRE PENINSULA & BEYOND.

IN EARLY 2021 WE PURCHASED A FOOD TRUCK, DECKING IT OUT TO ENABLE US TO EXPAND OUR MENU FURTHER AND KEEP UP WITH OUR HUGELY INCREASED DEMAND. 

IN FAST-PACED SMOKEY UPPERCUTS FASHION IT WAS ONLY A MATTER OF 9 MONTHS AND WE MOVED INTO THE WHYALLA FORSHORE CAFE. WE EMPLOYED A CHEF, KITCHEN & FRONT-OF-HOUSE STAFF & GREW THE MENU TO CATER FOR THE WIDER COMMUNITY.  IN ADDITION TO OUR TRADITIONAL SMOKED FOOD, OUR MENU THEN INCLUDED ALL THE FINE MEALS AND BEVERAGES YOU’D EXPECT TO FIND AT A GREAT CAFE!

IN EARLY 2022 WE WERE ADVISING THE CAFE BUILDING WE WERE OPERATING IN WILL BE NO LONGER AND AN ALL NEW-MOBILE PREMISES WAS TO BE ESTABLISHED FOR US TO OPERATE IN.  INITIALLY WE THOUGHT IT WOULD WORK WELL FOR US, BUT AS PLANS CHANGED WE QUICKLY REALISED WE HAD GROWN TOO LARGE FOR THE NEW, SMALLER PREMISES AND MOVED ON TO OUR NEXT CHAPTER..

WE HAVE NOW JUST PURCHASED OUR OWN PLACE, TO BE REVEALED IN THE MIDDLE OF 2022!

WE’RE SUPER-EXCITED & CAN’T WAIT TO MOVE IN.
ADDING TO THIS, WE HAVE 2 MORE MASSIVE ANNOUNCEMENTS UP OUR SLEEVES, SO STAY TUNED!
